Creighton defender Seth Sinovic prepared for the MLS Combine by participating in the Pro Pace Soccer Combine in Omaha, Nebraska on January 4, 2010. Sinovic's Pro Pace Soccer Combine coach, Burke Slusher, interviewed Sinovic for MLSDraft.net .
How would you best describe yourself as a player?
I think I’m a simple and hard working player. Being converted from a forward/midfielder to an outside back in college I have developed on the defensive side of the ball, while at the same time I have the ability to get forward and involved in the attack as well.
You were selected for the MLS combine last year, but then were granted an extra year of college eligibilty due to a medical reshirt. What can you tell us about your decision to come back for another year of college soccer?
I knew I had a great opportunity last year with the combine, but when I learned that I had gained an extra year of eligibility a couple days before last year’s combine, it was impossible not to go back. Creighton is a great school, it has great support from the community, great coaches and great players and I couldn’t turn down another opportunity to experience that.
How has an additional year of college soccer helped you as a player?
I think it has. College soccer is a level where tons of learning takes place, and having only played the left back position a couple of years, it was a great opportunity to get another year of experience.
Getting ready for the MLS combine, you just participated in another invitation only event, the Pro Pace Soccer Combine. What can you tell us about that event?
It was a great event. It was great to get some exposure, fitness and touches leading up to this week. In addition, there were many good players there making it all the better.
Are there any particular MLS players that you are looking forward to competing with or against?
It will be great to play against many of the players in the league like Donovan and Beckham, but I would love to have the opportunity to be on the same field again with former teammates like Matt Besler and Michael Kraus.
