I've not been looking forward to this.
Trying to identify and concisely categorize the needs of the hapless Colorado Rapids much like trying to herd cats.
Thankfully, the Rapids have already addressed the biggest chink in their Styrofoam armour, that being the coach-dom of Fernando Clavijo, which for Colorado supporters was the MLS equivalent of a repeated kick to the nuts.
With Gary Smith now mercifully at the helm, the Rapids can look to rebuilding, and they cannot start fast enough. With this being MLSDraft.net, I'd love to write about the Rapids' potential targets in what could be the deepest draft since the first one way back in '96, but in their infintie wisdom Colorado decided that they don't need to choose in the first round this year.
So instead, they will have to look to the trade and transfer market to upgrade their woeful side.
With one week left in the MLS season, there are still 3 playoff spots left with 5 teams fighting for them. With Dallas, Toronto, Los Angeles and San Jose out of the playoff picture we can focus on the final 5.
